Jim Burch
Jim Burch

Jim was mayor of the City of Palo Alto in 2005 and served on the City Council for 6 years. He worked for Batten, Barton, Durstine and Osborn (BBDO), a global advertising firm (1951-1974) as a creative supervisor, management supervisor and vice president. Taking early retirement in 1974, Jim volunteered his time and talents to the Creative Initiative Foundation and then helped to co-found the Beyond War Foundation in 1982. Jim has been a trustee since 1990.

 

Bill DeVincenzi
Bill DeVincenzi

Bill has been a lecturer in Accounting and Finance in the College of Business at San Jose State University for twelve years, and has received both the Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor award and the Outstanding Graduate Instructor award.  He earned his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and has 30 years of industry experience, including ten at the Vice President of Finance or Chief Financial Officer level.  A California CPA, Bill is a past president of the San Francisco Chapter of the Financial Executives International and was named the Outstanding Faculty Advisor by the Financial Management Association International for his work with the Award winning San Jose State student FMA club.

 

Virginia Fitton
Virginia Fitton

Virginia and her husband, Don, raised two children and have three grandchildren. A graduate of San Jose State University, Virginia has devoted 50 years to designing, organizing, and leading personal growth seminars, workshops, courses, and conferences all over the world. She was executive director of personnel for the Beyond War Foundation. Virginia has been a trustee since 0000.

 

 

Richard Rathbun
Richard Rathbun

Richard is Chairman of the Board of Trustees and has worked, lived, or traveled extensively in over 50 countries and is conversant in several languages. A Stanford graduate in architecture, his work has focused upon international development, human development, peace and consciousness, including conflict resolution in such areas as the former Soviet Union, Afghanistan and Central America. He is currently devoted to exploring the emerging global culture and how it derives from new information from the sciences.

 

Libby Traubman
Libby TraubmanLibby is a retired clinical social worker.  In 1982, in response the threat of global nuclear war. she was a founding member of the Beyond War Movement, now Foundation for Global Community.  In 1992, Libby and her husband, Len,, co-founded the Jewish-Palestinian Living Room Dialogue Group of San Mateo, based on their earlier experience organizing the Beyond War conference for Israeli and Palestinian citizen-leaders which resulted in a historic signed document, “Framework For a Public Peace Process.” In 1994, Libby was inducted into the San Mateo County Women's Hall of Fame.

Bill Wall, a financial professional with 35 years of progressive experience in the hi-tech industry, has extensive expertise in investment, property, and project management, and information systems. A graduate of San Jose State University, Bill is married, has three children, and resides in San Jose, California.
